Professor Juengst directs the UNC Centre for Bioethics and the Centre for Genomics and Society's Science Policy Group, and is involved several international efforts to develop fair governance for genomic research, including the Welcome Trust/NIH Human Health and Heredity in Africa initiative, and the ELSI2.0 Collaboratory.

The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill:
The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill is the oldest public university in the U.S., and provides the infrastructure for a large number of world-class research centres and initiatives.  The University hosts the Gillings School of Global Public Health, the Carolina Genome Sciences Centre, the Centre for Health Equity Research and the UNC Centre for Bioethics. These units are highly interactive, and are formally connected through the UNC Centre for Genomics and Society (one of the U.S. NIH's six national "Centres of Excellence in Ethical, Legal and Social Implications of Genomics Research").
